When the two 6-part sections were scheduled to be released in late 2017 and early 2018, the staff stated in a statement that both parts would be released in 2018 with a short gap between them. The 2 seasons have completely separate stories from each other. The creators had previously stated that the 12-episode anime would be related to the main game storyline from 2000-2001 and would be a sequel to it.
